HISTORICAL NOTES WITH Chicho Ruiz

Chicho Ruíz started on the radio in 1966 as a radio drama actor, dabbling  in the communication process in different positions of a radio station.  Actor, booth announcer, programmer, commercial announcer, copy, advertising seller, Disc Jokey, presenter and entertainer.

Known for being a co-founder of the Costa Rican radio station Radio Uno on the 91.1 FM frequency since the second half of the 1970s and which would later move to 102.7 FM until the late 1980s and early 1990s, he was also the director of his own radio station, Radio Tiempo, which was on the air for 3 years on 89.9 FM.

I have experienced the evolution of the transmission of formats from 78 rpm to 33 rpm and 45 rpm, to the 2-track cartrige for commercials, from cassette to mini disc and from CD to Mp3 to current streaming technology.

For more than half a century I have participated in the communication and music industry as an artistic producer, representative and promoter of record labels, photographer and producer of my own videos, let's remember some of his spots with the following audios:

La Hora Soul
Radio Uno
Radio Tiempo
